Fans operate for second night in a row

The fans were operating again lats night / this morning. More interestingly, there was a fair breeze blowing from about 1am, so these would have been operating in conditions that were outside those considered safe by manufacturers and the Department of Labour. Of course, most fans are too primitive to know if the wind was blowing and one day in a good sou-wester, there will be widespread carnage as fans disintegrate.

Yes: the fans in the lower Waihopai turned on at about 3:30 am on the 21st Sept 2009. They ran for a short time then strangely they turned off! Now here's the question: Further up the valley the temperatures plunged to minus 5°C. Given that these machines are only 'good' (word used with relunctance) to minus 2°C did the owners get overcome with guilt at the obscene noise they were spreading through out the peaceful night or did they fry their newly sprouted buds? Karma Rules in the End.
Given that they woke residents up 7 kilometres away how compliant are they anyway?

Hmm.. Interesting. I actually thought that it would still be appropriate to run the machines, as there is still a benefit to be gained. Of course they may be later budding or they may be trying to use the frost as a natural thinning technique. I have a feeling that we can rule out guilt.
